                   THE APRIL MEETING WILL BE ON WEDNESDAY APRIL 16TH  AT LOCAL 24 AT  THE REGULAR TIME OF 12:00 NOON 

       REMEMBER DUES FOR 2025 ARE DUE PAST DUE AND THAT NEWSLETTERS WILL NOT BE SENT TO THOSE WHO ARE NOT PAID

     The Regular Membership Meeting of March 19^th 2025 was called to order at 12:00 noon by President Albert Janda followed by a prayer by Brother Larry Hart.  He spoke briefly about the recognition of our members and started by telling the membership about the card sent to us from the Buckley Family thanking everyone for their prayers and flowers.  Then he spoke about Brother Mike Burke’s wife’s fall in which she broke her shoulder; Sister Martha Russell having medical issues which might stop her from driving; Brother Richard Newcomb (Treasurer) is having a Laryngoscopy and that Brother Jerry Hibbeler had his 80^th birthday. Brother Sammy Wells gave us his report and the good news is that PV &W is sending out letters to get the social security reimbursement checks out to us. Please look for the yellow forms in the mail and be sure to fill them out with a copy of your 2024 Form SSA-1099 attached and return them by mail or email to PV&W’s office. The amount of the checks will be around $2,096.40. Brother Wells told the membership that the fund is $165,900,450.00 as of January 2025. The Treasurer’s report was read by Brother Richard Newcomb and that the available balance as of 02/19/2025 was $18,455.89.  The minutes of the previous meeting was read and a motion was made to approve both the treasurer’s report and minutes read and seconded. Approved by body. President Janda spoke about the meeting with President Alan Robb and how the retirees are still hoping for 100% medical coverage. Under new business President Janda talked about Local 24’s successful Toy Run and about the organization connected with Jackie Hill Murphy and how it affects everyone and thanked them for it. Gift card drawings were held and #342090 Brother Randy Weber, and #342104 Brother Joe Cordova were the winners. Lottery winners were Brothers Jerry Hibbeler and Brother Fuller. Meeting was adjourned at 12:50pm followed by prayer by Brother Larry Hart.

            The Regular Executive Board Meeting met on April 2^nd at 11:07am with President Janda opening with a prayer. President Janda spoke about the fact that the Social Security Reimbursement forms were sent and should be received shortly and that you need to fill it out and enclose a copy of the SSA-1099 form showing you Medicare part B deductions. President Janda has set the date of October 4^th for our 2025 Festival and it will be again at Local 28’s pavilion.  It was discussed that we may start having door prizes given out at our regular membership meetings if an effort to boost attendance and participation. President Janda announced that this next meeting on April 16^th will be $1 (Special for this meeting only) and will be pulled pork sandwich, potato salad, baked beans (with bacon) pickles and onions and dessert to the members only.  Be sure to pass the word. Gift cards at this meeting be only $1 for each chance to win and only at this meeting. There will be still only 2 cards at $30 each. Wooden Trash Cans should be available for raffle starting at the May’s meeting and tickets will be only $2 each. It was discussed that we may have several vintage pocket knives available for a live auction at the April’s meeting. Bidding will start at $50. I am looking thru my collection for nice ones. Meeting was closed at 12:15 pm following a prayer by Brother L. Hart.

Your $25- 2025 dues are now past due.  Please mail to this address in care of Richard Newcomb and make the check out to ILA RETIREES ASSOCIATION ( no cash ).  If not received by February 28th 2025 you will dropped and no further newsletter will be sent to you. You may also pay at meetings.
