The Regular Membership Meeting of April 16th was called to order at 12:05 pm followed by a prayer by President Albert Janda. President Janda announced that today was $1 Day and that gift card drawing tickets and that today’s lunch will be only $1 each. He then reminded everyone that the Executive Board is still short 1 person and that PV&W has sent out the pension plan certification forms and that the Social Security Reimbursement checks will be sent out starting April 21st. The minutes of the previous meetings were read and approved by the body. The Treasurer’s report was read and as of April 16th our balance is $17,361.80. A motion to accept report as read was made, seconded and approved by body.  President Janda spoke about the Container Royalty fund and addressed some questions expressed by members about how it can continue for several years after your retirement date. What is understood is that 1st year is based on the actual hours worked the year of retirement and 2nd year it is based on the average hours required that year. Brother Hibeller addressed the body and stated that he had called WGMA and was told that WGMA will only go back 4 years to address questions. Brother Ray Rutz asked the body if we could have President Alan Robb come before body to address our concerns and questions about the discrepancy on the number of checks we are entitled to. President Janda said he would contact President Robb and speak with him on our concerns. Under New Business President Janda reminded us that our October Festival is planned for the 1st Saturday in October (October 4th) and that it will be at Local 28’s Pavilion and that we will again have door prizes. The winners of this month gift card drawings were Brother James Weiskopf and Brother Richard Newcomb.  The lottery numbers winners were Brother Fuller and Brother Ray Rutz. The meeting was adjourned following a closing prayer by Brother Jerry Hibbeler.

The Regular Executive Board Meeting met on May 7th 2025 at 10:00 am with an opening prayer by Brother Weiskopf. President Janda told the board that Brother Gerald Herring is now in assisted living and asked everyone to keep him in our prayers. President Janda presented a Plaque to Local 1351 in Appreciation for their Support, Time and Dedication to the 2025 Arabia Shrine Circus. President Bill Williams Jr. accepted it and thanked everyone for it. The Treasurer’s report was read by President Janda in the absent of Brother Richard Newcomb who is recovering for back surgery. The present balance is $17,211.80.  The success of the gift cards last month prompted a motion by Brother Derryl Wood that we continue this month’s gift card drawings of $1 each and we will still have 2 cards at $30 each. It was seconded by Brother David Janda and approved. Lunch will return to its $10 each and it was decided that this month the lunch menu will be roasted chicken, new potatoes and black-eyed peas. It was discussed and approved that we have door prizes this month at our May’s regular meeting and that there will be 2 x $50 gift cards given out this month. Remember Door Prizes this month to 2 lucky attendees.  President Janda spoke about our October 4th Festival and that we have decided that we will have the return of the Fish Fry where we will have 3 pieces of fish, coleslaw, French fries and hush puppies. The tickets will be $15 each and will be available for purchase starting at the regular August membership meeting. A motion made by Brother Tony Morris and seconded by Brother Derryl Wood that we will have only 170 tickets available. Motion carried and approved.  With no other pending business we adjourned the meeting following a closing prayer by Brother David Janda.

Remember that this month’s regular meeting on May 21st there will be Door Prizes of 2 x $50 Gift Cards and that the drawing for the 2 x $30 Gift Card Drawing will only be $1 per ticket again this month. Please let our other ILA Retiree Members know to attend.
