The Regular Membership Meeting of June 18th was called to order at 12:00 noon by President Albert Janda followed by a prayer by Brother Jim Hughes. President Albert Janda opened the meeting by introducing our guests who are Linda Nowaski, Candance Miniel, and Bradley Sommer of the PVW of the ILA. Linda addressed the body and started by telling us about the MILA wrap around program and that if you enroll in a Medicare Advantage program instead of the MILA wrap around that you might have to go to their doctors in their network. It was mentioned that there is a lot of advertisement directed toward seniors and retirees to enroll in these Medicare Advantage programs and if by chance you do enroll in them you can withdraw from them by calling the offices and filling out forms. It is suggested that our MILA Wrap Around is the best for us. Linda asked the body if they had questions. Question: What happens if an active member dies and they have no beneficiary. Linda said it would go to spouse or family first and if no spouse or family it would go to their estate and then the state as last measure. A member asked what is the death benefit for an active member. It was said that the wife’s benefit is $15,000 and the member is $16,000. Several other questions were asked and addressed by Linda and we thanked our quests for coming and answering questions. The minutes of the previous meetings were read by Brother Weber and a motion to accept minutes as read was made by Brother Jerry Hibbeler and seconded by Brother Lloyd Klinkerman. Motion was approved by body. The treasurers was read by Brother Richard Newcomb which shows a balance as of May 31st 2025 as $15,808.98. A motion was made again by same members to approve the report as read. Approved by the body.
President Albert Janda spoke to the membership about our October 4th festival and that it would be again the fish fry and that tickets will be $15 each and that we are only going to have a 170 tickets available. The gift card drawings were then held and the winners of the two $30 gift cards were Brother George Smith and Brother Clifton Fuller. The lottery number winners were Brother Danny Hernandez and Sister Lorretta Kelly. The door prize winners were Brothers Jim Hughes and Brother Lloyd Klinkerman. With no other business the meeting was closed at 1:15pm followed by a prayer by Brother James Weiskopf.
The Regular Executive Board Meeting met on July 2nd 2025 at 10:00 am with an opening prayer by Brother Victor Bass. President Janda addressed the board by reminding everyone that our October 4th Festival will again be the fish fry at $15 each ticket and that we will only have 170 tickets available. It was bought up that we will attempt to have some games that the attendees can participate in such as some bag toss game (Cornhole game) or anything that the body might want at the festival. It was discussed that we need to come up with any way to get new members into our organization or how to get more members to attend our monthly meetings. It was addressed that we will again have the 2 $30 each gift card chances to be only $1 each. President Janda told the board that Brother Richard Newcomb, the Treasurer will be having surgery on his back and that for an unspecified time the board will have to appoint a member to his duties. A motion by Brother Benny Espinoza Jr. and seconded by Brother Victor Bass that the board appoint Brother Randy Weber as temporary Treasurer. Approved by board. Brother Larry Hart will assist in these duties to help the Treasurer. The lunch for the July meeting was discussed and it was decided that this month we will have a choice of cheese steak or chicken fried chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy and the vegetable will be green beans. Desert and tea will also be available. The meeting was adjourned at 11am followed by a prayer by Brother Weber.
